DETROIT, Michigan, [April 15, 2021]—
As part of its continuing mission to bring farmer direct, locally roasted, and hand crafted coffee to the people of Detroit, The Great Lakes Coffee Roasting Company is pleased to announce the opening of a second brand operated location in partnership with Meijer, and their 6th brand operated café, within the planned Rivertown Market on East Jefferson Avenue.
Following the success of the two Michigan companies’ first collaboration at Woodward Corner Market in Royal Oak, this new neighborhood grocery store will see The Great Lakes Coffee Roasting Company offering the same quality coffee menu, including a full range of espresso drinks, cold brew on tap, pastries, and whole bean coffee to take home.
Rivertown Market, which is the fourth small format store opened by Meijer, will bring a neighborhood grocery store to the historic districts of Lafayette Park and Rivertown, offering customers a unique array of fresh food, artisan and local products, and Meijer and national brand products at low everyday prices. The cafe, providing visitors the same uniquely welcoming atmosphere and superior service that characterizes The Great Lakes Coffee Roasting Company’s other locations, will be open daily within the new concept market.
“It is a great honor to once again partner with Meijer to bring our coffee expertise to one of their innovative neighborhood markets,” says Brad Goulding, The Great Lakes Coffee Roasting Company’s Director of Brand Development. “We want our coffee to reach as many Detroit neighborhoods as possible, so this is the perfect opportunity to help serve (and caffeinate) these historic districts.”
