You’re craving a good cup of coffee. But not just any good coffee, something fulfilling and divine. A cup of coffee that leaves you with a satisfaction and longing for more with each sip. A light roast maybe, with fruity notes and a bright aroma… such as Las Lajas. The perfect companion to a chilly, fall day. And the perfect trio with that new movie you have been wanting to see. Mmm, autumn weather, hot coffee and a movie, what a flawless day.
Our Great Lakes Coffee cafe located inside The Maple Theater will give you all the fall feels and more. Think industrial-chic cafe meets classy, upscale theater, serving micro-roasted coffees, beer and snacks. Located on West Maple Road in Bloomfield Township, it’s a coffee shop like you have never seen before. A great place to study, meet up with friends or grab dinner and a movie, we’re proud to call this location one of our homes.
The Great Lakes Coffee Cafe
Upon pulling up, you are met with a large movie theater sign inlaid in a green decorative shrub exterior. The cafe is located at the front of the building when you first walk in, giving you ample time to order a drink while you wait for your friend to arrive or movie to start. Within the cafe, there’s plenty of seating for any preference. High-tops, low-tops and window seats line the building, with eccentric artifacts, like old film cameras and vintage publications. To account for the influx of people regularly passing through, there’s an additional outdoor section that’s closed off to the harsh temperatures in the winter.
Great Lakes Coffee at The Maple Theater features a full complement of coffees brewed manually on the La Marzocco GB5 espresso machine, custom-built pour-over rail, and the exceptionally rare Clover single-cup brewing system. The menu features new and exciting seasonal drinks, with regular staples you can always expect to see. Some of the barista’s favorites include the “All Nighter,” “The Morgan,” and “Chocolate Rain.” Looking for a creative twist on a coffee drink and the ultimate caffeine buzz? Then the “Chocolate Rain” is your next go-to, quad shot iced mocha. It’s as equally decadent as it is stimulating. Other fan favorites include our nitro cold brew and our seasonal vanilla-rose latte with a pumpkin spice finish.
The Maple Kitchen
After you grab a hot or iced drink, round the corner to find The Maple Kitchen. Dine in style, surrounded by crystal curtains and rich, reclaimed wood accents. A custom-fabricated fireplace adds to the cozy, comfortable setting to enjoy a book to yourself or set as a meeting place with friends. The menu is vast, offering everything from soup and salads, to flatbreads and desserts. Our favorite menu item after ordering a morning coffee is the avocado toast, with fresh lemon, fresno pepper and micro scallions on parmesan- encrusted sourdough, topped with a poached egg. Yeah, you read that right. The blackened salmon sandwich with spicy aioli, lettuce, tomato and pickle on a brioche bun is another mouth-watering treat.
The Maple Theater
The Maple Theater offers all of the mainstays of a regular theater, with the added luxury of delicious food options and a full liquor bar. Choose from a few specially curated latest releases, and enjoy a movie experience unlike anywhere else.
When we joined forces with Jon and Lauren Goldstein, we wanted to offer a cafe to the public that was unique to the area. But we were absolutely blown away with the result of our creation and the social house it’s proven to be. Whether you’re in the mood for a glass of wine on a Friday night, a coffee for your commute to work or a movie on a lazy Sunday, we’ve got you covered.
